Allow for ventilation <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the highest efficiency, always make sure your refrigeration units have plenty of space around it for air to circulate. Check the condenser for dust<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Condenser does the\nheavy lifting of creating cold air, but they can\u2019t radiate heat properly if\ntheir fins are coated with dust or grime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If they are dusty, turn\nthe fridge-freezer off (Unplug from the wall) and use a soft brush or the\nvacuum cleaner to clean the condenser unit above or beneath the refrigerator.\nClean your condenser coils 2-3 times per year or as frequently as advised by\nyour trusted refrigeration technician. Different environments\/usage can effect\nthe needed frequency of the clean, always consult your refrigeration technician\nif there is any doubt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clean condensers cost\nless to operate, and because they work more quickly to chill the air, keeping\nthem clean will extend the useful life of your appliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>3. Make sure that the seals are in good condition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One maintenance item that\ncan be easily overlooked is the door seals. Worn out door seals are one of the\nmain culprits for energy loss in refrigeration. Damaged or worn out door seals\nlet the cold air escape, making the unit work harder and cutting food quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can easily check door\nseals with the \u201cpaper test\u201d. Close the unit door on a piece of paper, if the\npaper falls out, or can be slid around under the seal easily, it\u2019s time to\nreplace the seals.
